The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) has confirmed a number of lengthly new sanctions issued against athletes charged with committing an anti-doping rule violation (ADRV).

Hungarian runner Gábor Pásztor has been issued with a four-year ban, after returning an Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF) at the 2016 European Athletics Championships in Amsterdam, where he competed in the 200m.

Another 200m runner from the Seychelles, Neddy Marie, was also been sanctioned with a four-year ban after returning an AAF from an out-of-competition (OOC) test on 15 March last year.

South African distance runner Azwindini Gladys Lukhwareni has also been sanctioned with a four-year ban after returning an AAF from a test at the Polokwane Mayor’s Marathon on 30 April last year. She had previously served a two-year ban after returning an AAF for 19-Norandrosterone in 2005.

The IAAF sanction list also confirmed the three-month ban issued to hurdler Dawn Harper-Nelson (USA), who won gold in the Beijing 2008 Olympics. Harper-Nelson returned an AAF for hydrochlorothiazide, which the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) accepted was due to blood pressure medication.

It also confirms the reprimand issued to the Mexican American Fernando Cabada jr, (USA) after USADA accepted that his AAF for clenbuterol was due to contaminated meat. So he did not get any ban.

The IAAF also confirmed a four-year sanction issued to race-walker Lyudmyla Olyanovska (UKR) by the Ukraine Athletics Federation (UAF), after she returned an AAF from an OOC test. However, as Olyanovska’s AAF dates from 11 November 2015, it is understood she will keep the bronze medal she won in the Beijing 2015 IAAF World Championships, which took place in August of that year.

The IAAF list also confirmed an eight-year sanction has been issued to Luis Paulo da Silva Antunes (BRA), after he returned an AAF in September 2015. In November 2015, the Confederation of Brazilian Athletics (CBAt) announced that the distance runner had tested positive for multiple substances. It is understood from media reports that it was a second offence.

Vũ Thị Ly,( VIE) Vietnam, a middle distance runner, got 1 month ban (February 2017) after a in competition test at the 5th Asian Beach Games in Vietnam 25.09.16. She was at the winning VIE-team at womens team cross country running competition.

Mihai Donisan (ROU), a high jumper from Romania with 2,32 m as PB. He tested positive on meldonium the 20th Feb. 2016 at the Romanian Indoor Championship. In Romainian press it says the test was at 19th April, see prosport.ro?
